How can I get in touch with other parents (or teachers) of the gifted?Gifted Mailing Lists, Message Boards, Blogs is a collection of mailing lists, boards, blogs, and podcasts putting gifted parents, children, educators and gifted adults in touch with each other, on the Internet!
What do my child's test scores mean?Hoagies' Gifted Education Page does not have any psychological professionals on staff; we cannot offer professional advice on test scores. That said, you can learn a lot about the tests and their scores yourself. Read Testing and Assessment: What Do the Tests Tell Us? for more on the types of tests, types of scores, and what they do and don't mean.
Is there a list of Schools for the gifted?Yes. Schools for the Gifted is a list of schools in the United States and Canada, that have served gifted students well, or that specify themselves as schools for the gifted. A very few also serve twice exceptional (gifted and learning disabled) students, as noted.
Is there a list of Psychologists to test the gifted?Yes. Psychologists familiar with the Gifted is a list of psychologists recommended independently by parents of the gifted. No psychologist is the right choice for all children, and parents of twice exceptional (gifted and learning disabled) children need to ask even more questions before committing to a psychologist. This page includes questions to ask, and ways to choose the professionals who is right for your family.
